[UPDATE] Access-A-Ride Something Strikes Again!

102610accessride.jpg Chalk up another one for the notoriously sloppy Access-A-Ride drivers. WABC reports that nine people were injured on Staten Island yesterday afternoon after an Access-A-Ride a bus and two vehicles collided. Eight of the victims were seriously injured, and one person is in critical condition. The cause of the accident is "under investigation," but we all know who was at fault here, don't we? (Hint: It rhymes with Axes Denied "we messed up.")

UPDATE: The MTA let us know that this was NOT an Access-A-Ride vehicle, pointing out that we would have know this if we (or WABC 7) contacted the agency for verification.

Worst drivers in the city. Worse than taxis, worse than limos, even worse than bicycle riders.

Despite qualifying for free access-a-ride trips to the clinic where he receives treatment, a friend with cancer now pays a car service to take him. He felt unsafe in those vehicles after several near-misses and was offended by drivers' poor hygiene. Already nauseated by chemo, he didn't need a smelly driver to make the situation worse.

    Taxes applied?

They should have an ambulance start escorting these things.
