Photos: Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade

We all know cats are the most fashionable pets in the city, but there's no way a kitty could rock an Antoine Dodson costume as good as a pup. Yesterday was the 20th annual Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade, where dogs and humans alike dressed up in costumes that ranged from cute (Thing 1 and Thing 2) to topical (Tron) to downright terrifying (bed bugs).

Prizes were given "every 30 minutes," and pups dressed as Lady Gaga and the bed bugs were a few of the winners, but an iPod and a Jack Spade messenger bag went to the owners of Gracie, who dressed her up as Scarlett O'Hara. Owner Dewey Moss simply said, "I'm shocked." Antoine Dodson (Dogson?) was robbed!

Those dogs are so darn cute they don't need costumes! The things they do to humor us daft owners ;)

Thanks, asianjenna for the reblog and props. You can see more of my work here (some NSfW): http://flickr.com/gp/editrixie/4ERL10. Yay for credit!

  • I posted the "Hide Yo Kids" costume photo on my Tumblr (that has like 19 people following) and to my surprise, The Today Show re-blogged and it's since blew up. I credited Gothamist for the fine but can someone post a link to the photographer's stuff so I can credit?

    Thanks!

I'd say 'those poor dogs', but these dogs are obviously whores.
