M101: The Death Bus?

102410m101.jpg If you value your life, or just that bus crash-less streak you've been on, you might not want to take a ride on the M101. The Post reports that the M101 was the most dangerous bus in the city in 2009, crashing 268 times. The main culprit? Rookie drivers. Veteran drivers know the route is dangerous, and use their clout to drive the easy routes. How else are they going to find time to text? The second most dangerous route is the M15, both for crashes and the rage-filled passengers ready to lash out at the SBS.

Not surprised, considering the route...3rd/Lex, across the worst part of 125th, and then up to Wash Heights, where they drive (and triple-park) like complete idiots.

I'm guessing those 268 crashes are over > a period of 1 year. Would you ride a bus that crashed 5 days per week?

lesson: M101 does not equal Bus Driving 101.
