Shooting At Chase Bank Near MSG

2010_10_chasemsg.jpg WABC 7 reports, "One man was injured in a possible police involved shooting at a bank at Madison Square Garden in Midtown Manhattan. The person was shot at the Chase Bank, at Penn Plaza just before 12:45 p.m." The bank is on 7th Avenue, near 31st Street, at 2 Penn Plaza. We hear the victim may have been robbing the bank when police approached him and he may have pulled a knife. He was apparently in "not likely" to die condition and was transported to Bellevue; two cops were also taken there.

Out of any bank in the friggin city, I wouldn't exactly place the MSG Chase branch on the top of my list of banks to rob given the foot traffic & the sheer number of cops down below at Penn Station.

    Novice.

Waiting for the "but he only had a knife" comments.

Then please refer back to the stabbing a week ago on Long Island of the 8 year old boy, where the boy was nearly stabbed to death by a 3.5" or 4" knife.

"But he only had a knife" and trained law enforcement officers should be able to apprehend someone with a knife without shooting them and the Long Island boy's stabbing is a perfect example. That guy was apprehended, by civilians, without a single shooting, it can be done.

the person the knife was being used against didn't apprehend him.
