Paladino Gay Gate: Adviser <3 Pride Parade

Carl Paladino said some incendiary things about homosexuality last weekend that Dame Rudy Giuliani found highly offensive. He ended up apologizing for most of what he said, but there was one thing that he still couldn't quite let go: those colorful, thong-filled gay pride parades. They irk him so! But one of the conniving Republican strategists who have been one of his major silent backers couldn't disagree with him more: Roger Stone. He told The Advocate, “It is clear that my advice is having no impact. I just can’t imagine why he would go out and do this. I strongly disagree with it. It’s inconsistent with any of the advice I have given his campaign.”

Stone, who is helping run Kristen Davis' campaign (Davis' platform includes legalizing gay marriage), emailed Politco a long list of pro-same-sex marriage bona fides, and said, "I'm a libertarian Republican. I support Marriage Equality." Yes, it's true: it's 2010, and Roger Stone is a social progressive, just like his hero and back tattoo, Richard Nixon.

Paladino said what he said in speaking to the orthodox community while trying to get their endorsement. The Orthodox and Hassidic community is strongly anti-gay. After he apologized for his ridiculous comments, he lost their endorsement. Of course, no one seems to be mentioning that in our wide open media not controlled by special interests or a powerful minority group.

    wait...what?

Rudy is to be blamed, as a moonlighting drag queen, for hate crimes...not for being the queen that made new york a nice place to live & profit again?

And Gay Pride parades shouldn't exist, but hate crimes are the former mayors fault?

Using your logic, equating gay pride with NAMBA would solidly make you a domestic terrorist by thought association, not to mention your publicly written words.

Leave it to Roger Stone to be the arbiter of public morality, he of the "swingers" ad revealed a number of years ago.

The simple fact is, Paladino was RIGHT!!!

The gay, uh, "pride????" parade is a despicable display of the very worst of the homosexual lifestyle. There are representatives of the pedophile criminal gang "North American Man-Boy Love Association"; there are hateful and lewd displays directed at St. Patrick's Cathedral (including indecent exposure, masturbation, and other vile hate crimes directed at this old New York institution).

And 3x's married Rudy Giuliani -- DRAG QUEEN -- who presided as mayor when such HATE CRIMES were perpetrated did NOTHING to arrest a SINGLE individual. He's hardly more an arbiter of right or wrong than stone.

The majority of New Yorkers sided with Carl at the outset. He shouldn't be back tracking now, just because some ALWAYS vocal gay "pride" propogandists convey the notion that tolerance -- as opposed to affirmation -- of gays is somehow "homophobia".

"""The majority of New Yorkers sided with Carl???""" Are you CRAZY?

Where did you do your "polling"?

  • jibbly

Are you Gothamist's new felix? Because these message boards were SORELY missing commentators that CAPITALIZE enough words and ADD lots of "AIR QUOTES" and question marks to "EMPHASIZE" their -- totally NOT batshit CRAZY -- points!!!!

Roger Stone is the living embodiment of everything wrong with out current state of politics. This man makes a mockery of our political process and equates it to "performance art" with no consideration or respect for our process of government. He's destroying America for profit.

In other words, he's a fake, opportunistic, POS, who should feel right at home with his prostitute candidate.

BTW, Kristin Davis looks like Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler.

  • Dear Fiscal Conservatives who are Social Liberals-- if you are willing to throw equality under the bus in order to score tax breaks, you don't get to claim exemption for the bigotry of the Republican party. Sorry!
