Video: Paladino Says "Fuck 'Em" To Having NYC Terror Trial
Carl Paladino is upset at the media for seizing on his various lightning rod statements. He told City Room, "It just seems like there’s a continuous misstatement, or abuse or exaggeration by certain members of the press that just keep chasing us around." But when there's video of him dropping the F-bomb during a town hall meeting this past March, why can't we all just enjoy it?
According to National Journal, the questioner says, "If you were the chief executive of New York, what would your response be to the attorney general of the United States deciding to hold terrorist trials in Manhattan?" Paladino answered, "Fuck him. Fuck him." WAtch the video—the question is at about the 2:10 mark.
Also, City Room reports, "Mr. Paladino said it was 'probably' a mistake to allow rabbis whose congregations he visited on Sunday to have input into his remarks on gays. One of Mr. Paladino’s speeches on Sunday originally included a line deploring gay lifestyles as 'dysfunctional,' but Mr. Paladino said he had crossed out the remark, suggested by a rabbi, before the speech and never intended to deliver it. Still, he was widely condemned when a draft of his remarks that included the line was made public."

I hate this bum but he clearly didn't say that. But he's said ALOT worse. Can't wait till this circus of an election is over so this neanderthal can go crawl back into his cave.

Not only is Gothamist guilty of shoddy journalistic standards, they are also slow at doing what they do (paraphrasing and aggregating stories that real journalists report on), so here is the latest on what a hypocritical scumbag Paladino is:
You can knock Paladino all you want, but he was proven right. Remember all the chaos and deaths caused by the Faisal Shahzad trial? NYC may never be the same.

Interesting that Buffalo accents are the exact same as Chicago accents.

"seems like there’s a continuous misstatement, or abuse or exaggeration by certain members of the press"
This may be the first time he's made an accurate statement in the entire campaign, because that's clearly the case here. There's no way he's the one saying "fuck'em" in this video. Call is misstatement, abuse, exaggeration, or whatever. This is not accurate reporting, whatever else you might call it.
He's still a joke, but there's enough that he actually does say that makes that point. There's no need to make stuff up.
Hey, just like with Sarah Palin-- it is CHEATING if you have the "record" function on!

People should find more constructive stuff to do than get upset over the musings of a guy who has zero chance of winning.

As much as I detest Paladino, it's pretty clear he's not the one saying it. The sound of the voice is closer to camera. It actually sounds like it's the person shooting the video saying it. Plus when it's said the second time, Paladino is in the frame, and he is answering the question, saying something completely different. This is just more unfortunately bad work from amateur bloggers looking for a scoop, and Jen Chung is jumping on the coattails, with bad work of her own. This is why bloggers suck at being journalists.

No Fuck You Paladino!
I can't wait till the election so we won't have to hear about this jackass anymore.

I watched the video starting at 2:10 several times, and it it wasn't clear to me, but seemed that someone in the audience, not Paladino, said "fuck em". Anyway, going back to March? At some podunk venue? Paladino has said and done enough crazy stuff recently; pitching dated material that isn't clear is not necessary and should be avoided, just comes off as desperate.

How prescient of you Carl! That's exactly what everybody is saying to you now.
eyekantspel
Yeah, except he didn't say it. Watch the video at 2:10, decide for yourself.

I did and knew if from the first time I saw it..the comment came from another direction. But what I do find telling is the comment right before Paladino starts to speak..."Uh, oh". Even back in March, somebody realized what a hornet's nest this guy is.
