Pregnant Woman's Body Found in Car Outside NYPD Station

100610missing.jpg This is weird and sad: the body of a four-months pregnant woman was found in a car outside an NYPD station in the Bronx last night—by a detective from Mount Vernon. Police confirmed today that the body was that of 32-year-old Gizela Andrade, a diabetic Mount Vernon resident who has been missing since Sept. 25th. She was found in the driver's seat.

Mount Vernon Detective Roberto Boncardo was at the station to exchange information with NYPD detectives about the missing woman, and after he left the meeting he spotted her white 2010 Toyota Venza, which was parked in a reserved police supervisor's space near the police building on a dead end street. The parking lot "is back off in a wooded area" and "pretty secluded," says Detective Sgt. Robert Scott.

Mount Vernon police chief Barbara Duncan tells the Journal News there initially there did not seem to be any signs of trauma to the body, and an autopsy is being conducted this morning. Andrade, a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, was a diabetic and did not take her medication when she left home last month. "We're not ruling out anything at this point, but there are no suspects and we don't know of any foul play at this point, Scott tells the Harrison Patch.

    Oh my God.

"he spotted her white 2010 Toyota Venza, which was parked in a reserved police supervisor's space near the police building"

So there's a car, belonging to a missing person, with a dead person near the police building, parked in one of their reserved spots, and no cop realized it?

Can the NYPD get anything right?

Rest in peace Gizela Andrade and fetus.

The detective was there to discuss the missing person, and then she happens to be dead in the parking lot?

I hope they're looking into whether these two people knew each other.
