Tony Bennett Compares Lohan to Lenny

lohanlinds0910.jpg Is Lindsay Lohan the Lenny Bruce of young Hollywood? According to Tony Bennett, she could be. Page Six says the crooner recently gave his two cents on the subject of Lohan's downward spiral, recalling, "Woody Allen's manager, Jack Rollins, used to handle Lenny Bruce, who was a brilliant comedian, but was hooked on heroin. He said something that changed my life. He said: 'He sinned against his talent.' It affected me so much that I just got rid of everything." Bruce was found dead at age 40 on his bathroom floor, with a syringe and other narcotics paraphernalia scattered about. The 85-year-old added, "these young stars should learn how to celebrate life, feel good about living, and do what they love... they won't end up doing something that will kill them."

"these young stars should learn how to celebrate life, feel good about living, and do what they love"

Well, there's the rub, Mr. Bennett. She's doing exactly that. Lots of drugs, booze and all-night partying is how she celebrates living. Can't do any of that once you're dead. It all makes her feel good and she's doing something that she obviously loves. She may well become yet another exemplar of "live fast, die young, leave a good-looking corpse."

Something tells me that if and when she does that one line too many, she ain't going to be good-looking no more.

3, if you truly find Lilo attractive, you should expand your social activities and start attending NA meetings.

    Very degrading of Lenny.

He'd have to be living under a rock not to know who she is. As for caring, some reporter asked him a question and he answered... with a generic comment about "young stars".

BTW the "Page Six" link above currently points back at this page. The correct link is here:

Meanwhile in other comments from older stars who know she is, Jerry Lewis says she's a "fresh, dumb broad" who "needs a spanking on her ass to get her to put herself where she belongs!"

  • The Mighty Monarch

Nothing to worry about, she won't make it to 40.

  • ANGRYGOD11

I'm just amazed a class act like Tony Bennett would know or care who Lohan is and bother to give advise.

  • gg101

except Lenny Bruce was actually talented

  • ANGRYGOD11

Lindsay Lohan was on her way to becoming a top actress, before she self-destructed. She was headlining successful films (profitable and well-regarded) years before she could legally order at the bar.

Thats what makes her such a compelling gossip story and punchline.
