what EXACTLY did he die of?

They should say what specifically he did (for instance 'mixing A with B').

Why are they keeping it a mystery?

Perhaps it's just because they have to wait for the toxicology report?

there has to be more education about those "prescription drugs" (=government sanctioned drugs)

Just because a doctor prescribes drug doesn't mean it's safer than heroin.

  • RottenApple

Its a legit question. It may be that drug interaction and not necessarily quantity was the factor here. The media often lumps both scenarios under the 'overdose' category.

  • jules1000

exactly. They say, oh well, prescription medication overdose or whatever. There should be more education about this. I don't have any experience with prescription medication, but I assume people underestimate it, because it's officially medication.

And it seems that it's always a mix of things that kills people....

  • robingee

Everyone has to be careful with any kind of meds.

  • JenChungsBaby

They probably aren't sure yet what it was. In a few weeks we'll hear about a Heath Ledger-type toxicology report revealing every pharmaceutical he came near in his last 30 days of life.

    an 'accidental' overdose...?

  • Guest

It can happen. Have you ever forgotten if you took a pill or not that day? Or if you forgot to take one at a certain hour and doubled up the next dose as directed?

  • Rocknrope

He DIED of an OVERDOSE. What, you want to know the number of pills he swallowed? Most people don't give a shit. Overdose generally means he took too much of something he shouldn't have.

  • jules1000

well, I obviously do give a shit, that's why I posted.

I don't take pills of any kind, yet I still want to know how prescription pills kill people.

  • Rocknrope

    Farewell, Regian.

  • walzer

    Idiot.

  • robingee

You feel better now, pumpkin? You got it out of your system?

  • ottoemezzo

Oh, noes. Terrible when we lose someone who helps us laugh. We really need to laugh. Yet Dick Cheney still lives.

  • Alex

    Very sad.

Though I did not know you could overdose on irony.

  • robingee

RIP Greg, this is a very sad day for us comedy fans.

  • JenChungsNewBra

    RIP Greg:(

  • John L

    Sad.

His doctor/ drug dealer killed him just like Michael Jackson and millions of others are getting killed by their doctors / drug dealers.

Doctors are the new drug dealers &

Pharmaceutical companies are the new cartels.

    Rest in peace Greg Giraldo.

Yeh and what about that obnoxious little troll-like fellow with the Jewish sounding name? I don't think he would be missed much either....

  • JacqueMehoff

that would be jeffrey ross. he's funny when he wants to be.

but otherwise it's still mean insult humor.

  • Guest

Ross is a Jewish sounding name?
