Cuomodino Update: Spitzer Weighs In, Calls Cuomo A Bully

92310cuomospitzer.jpg Everybody's got an opinion about those kooky gubernatorial candidates, Carl mad-as-hell Paladino and Andrew no-comment Cuomo. Especially former Governor and current CNN host Eliot Spitzer, who talked at length about old sparring partner Cuomo on CNN's "American Morning" today (you can see the video below). He discussed how NY is really three states and the power of Paladino's populist rage, but mostly he said some harsh things about Cuomo, who he's had a complicated history with.

When asked what he thought Cuomo should do to engage the public, he all but called Cuomo a bully and thug: "...of course, the problem that Andrew has is that everybody knows that behind the scenes, he is the dirtiest, nastiest political player out there and that is his reputation from years in Washington. When his father was governor, he was the tough guy. He has brass knuckles and he played hard ball. He has a lot of enemies out there. Nobody's been willing to stand up to him."

But now that Cuomo doesn't look as untouchable as he did before certain polls were released, Spitzer imagines things may change in the Cuomo camp: "When it appeared he was going to win, it was inevitable. If it appears not to be inevitable, things may change. He has a lot of folks, he's really been on the wrong side of who may stand up and say, wait a minute, he may not want to pretend he plays that game. He does, and he's worse at it."

Hi Spitzer, meet me in the Sukkot tent and you, me and Haddasah can suck my hamatashen. You should be banished not revered, but that big thing of your's is tasty.

No, "negotiating" in Albany means back slapping, looking the other way as the state Treasury is shifted to local "charities" (read: slush funds) and our taxes are raised and raised and raised.

Cuomo is more of the same dysfunction, and he is not the answer. And just wait til he loses his cool - while Shelly picks all our pockets.

I'd vote for Spitzer over both of these guys.

His hookers were of no concern to me.

However I was glad when he resigned because to be honest he became a lame duck governor when his steamroller got stuck in the cesspool that's Albany. By the time the scandal hit he really couldn't get anything done because the whole Albany turned on him. The same thing will happen to Paladino if he got elected.

Paladino will come in talking all that shit then realize that politics is a game of negotiation and you can't negotiate with a baseball bat. We're better off with a governor that knows how to play the game than with an outsider who thinks he can come in and take over, it's not happening. People really think that Paladino is going to come in and all the other politicians are going to bow down to him, please. Both Democrats and Republicans will turn on him and he won't get anything done. People that think that one man can go in and really change things are not politically savvy.

Actually, we'd be better off firing every one of those bozos and starting from scratch.

Ha, that is pretty funny coming from the self-professed "f@#$ing steamroller". In any event, it's nice to see the Democratic establishment turning on the Thug.

  • This is the same Eliot Spitzer whose prostitutes complained about him "getting rough and too aggressive...repeatedly pressuring them to do things they didn't want to do." (here)

    .

He has no credibility and would probably be better off going to fuck himself.

Careful, Spitzer. In that picture, Cuomo has an expression that makes him look very much like Lou Ferrigno. Don't make him angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

  • Gotham Extremist

In response, Cuomo calls Spitzer a John.

    DAMN! THAT HURTS YO!
