Racist Westchester Politician Crosses The Line

92210russelll.jpg While some politicians can get away with comparing Orthodox Jews to Hitler and forwarding tons of racist, misogynistic emails, it turns out there are limits to these things—but you have to try really really hard to get there!

Case-in-point: Westchester County Republican Jim Russell, who was the Republican pick to run against Nita Lowey in the 18th Congressional District. That was until Republicans learned that Russell wrote a 16-page essay in 2001 titled "The Western Contribution to World History," in which he obsesses over sexual imprinting, bear-hugs eugenics, cites anti-Semitic commentary, and lets his blood boil over interracial marriage, Politco reports. And to top it off, the essay was published in The Occidental Quarterly, a journal classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. He writes innocuously about racial mingling, "Parents need to be reminded that they have a natural obligation, as essential as providing food and shelter, to instill in their children an acceptance of appropriate ethnic boundaries for socialization and marriage."

Mark Weitzman, director of governmental affairs for the Simon Wiesenthal Center, told LoHud.com that there was no mistaking Russell's views: "He's citing and referring to people who are generally considered to be extremists, professional anti-Semites and racists...On his own words, from his own sources, from his own writings, I think there's no question that this is a piece of racism and anti-Semitism dressed up and cloaked by pseudo-scholarship." Westchester GOP Chairman Doug Colety agreed, saying he wants to pull his name from the ballot: "We're going to pull the plug on him immediately...We were unaware of any of this."

i was fortunate to have grown up in nyc.it's diversity and constant energy are what makes this the greatest city in the world.i grew up in a housing project in manhattan.my building was pretty diverse for and irish-german neighborhood.many different cultures living in one 25 story building.if you haven't guessed,i am a white male.growing up there showed me who to trust, and not to trust.my friends who lived in my building were mostly black and hispanic.we had fun growing up playing stick ball, hit off the stoop, baseball in the abandoned park across the street, bottlecaps or scully, swimming in the east river just to name a few.my mom was from the neighborhood and was a very kind woman, lot's of her friends she grew up with also lived in our building.some of my friends mothers were very cold toward me,and i don't think they were happy about their kids hanging around with me.i never slept over their house and their sons never slept over mine.i would say hello to them but would never get a response.they would glare at me,even their older sisters didn't like me,these friends didn't have fathers either.but, being a kid,i didn't think twice about it.i had my fights over the years,i think the most fights were with the damned irish kids in the building.lot's of drugs, drinking, spousal and child abuse there.thank goodness we moved out of there and moved to queens!as i grew up,i started to understand that the moms of my friends totaly hated white people.no,it's not my imagination, they hated me.but their hatred didn't affect my friendships with their sons.i lost contact over the years with them, but my memories of the fun we had doing kid stuff, boy stuff, will always be with me.i miss the old neighborhood.

The spaces that commonly follow periods are NOT optional.

...and neither are the spaces that commonly follow commas. Yeesh.

There are no racists in NY! Everyone loves each other! It's a rainbow world filled with candy dreams!

  • Yan

Not all republicans are racist but all racists are republican.

One more thing... have I introduced you to Congressman Bobby Rush? Yes, the Bobby Rush who founded the Black Panther Party?

Let's hear your comments now fatman!

  • Polite New Yorker

Bobby Seale was one of the founders of the Black Panther Party in Oakland, Calif. Chicago Congressman Bobby Rush is a former Black Panther.

Interesting double standard here, as I don't think Politico has ever run a piece condemning any candidate for having the support of groups like La Raza (literally "The Race") or other avowedly racially-motivated black or Hispanic groups.

This whole thing is odd. Obama sat twenty years in a pew at Rev. Wright's church.

And Princeton locks up Michelle Obama's thesis where she discusses her views of "White privilege". Right...

Alan Dershowitz (gasp!) warns of "assimilation, intermarriage, and low birthrates" and locates a bright Jewish future in "the considerable, but largely untapped, strengths of "our own heritage."

But it is not racist when jews do it...

  • PKMKII

Do you really think that there is no "white privilege" in this country?

I agree with dershowitz that jews shouldn't assimilate to a WASP culture standard. However, I also think the same for Italians, Poles, and Russians, who are all white groups. It's not a racial issue.

  • Guys,

    TALK ABOUT HATE!

"An antisemite condemns people for being Jews, I am not an antisemite."--Michael Santomauro

Most of us are mentally trapped to think Jewish!!

Actually, it is safe to say that virtually every mainstream publication or or other type of media organ is "nothing more than a screen to present chosen views." The great battle over the last century has been a battle for the mind of the Western peoples, i.e., non-Jewish Euros. The chosen won it by acquiring control over essentially the complete mainstream news, information, education and entertainment media of every type, and using that control to infuse and disseminate their message, agenda and worldview, their way of thinking, or rather the way they want us to think. Since at least the 1960s this campaign has been effectively complete. Since then they have shaped and controlled the minds of all but a seeming few of us in varying degree with almost no opposition or competition from any alternative worldview. So now most of us are mentally trapped in the box the chosen have made for us, which we have lived in all our lives. Only a few have managed to avoid it or escape it, or to even sometimes see outside of it, and so actually "think outside of the (Jewish) box." --Michael Santomauro
