Fueled By Rage, Paladino Divides State

91910paladino.jpg Have you been getting worried that all of that anti-NYC bad mouthing Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino has been spouting lately may hurt his campaign? Don't worry. It's all part of the plan. "Part of his campaign has been to mobilize the angry upstate electorate and pit upstate versus downstate. I think you will see more of it," said Buffalo Assemblyman Sam Hoyt.

Paladino campaign manager Michael Caputo denies any such strategy exists: "Carl has come to an important realization after traveling across this state for six months: this upstate-versus-downstate stuff is all bull, just an excuse from our legislators who don't do their jobs," he told the Daily News. But maybe he's not fueled by a NY State divide; maybe he's fueled by pure rage. And that pure rage is filtered through his Tea Party supporters, who carried him to victory over Rick Lazio last Tuesday. "There is no question, Paladino is a divining rod for anger. He can find it anyplace, and that is what he is working off," said Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf.

At the very least, his rage-filled campaign has piqued the interest of FoxNews, who profile the violently straight-talking businessman this weekend. In it, Paladino contends that the age of political correctness is over, and he is just a member of the Tea Party, not one of its leaders. Which sounds a little bit like another sith padawan with bad eyeliner, doesn't it?

Why's everybody marginalizing Paladino with these "wacko" comments? You're all going to tell me with a straight face you don't or haven't ever thought the same exact things this guy has said?

(And yes, I think it's okay to say what's on your mind. The truth is refreshing.)

Anger leads to irrationality. And a candidate like Paldino, devoid of any real ideas or intelligence has to count on that irrationality to get himself elected.

As NYers we have a lot of reasons to be mad at the state of our local government but what's the solution? A psycho with a baseball bat? NO! The solution is to vote out the politicians that aren't doing their job and replace them with competent politicians that will truly serve us equally. Or in this case the lesser of two evils, ANDREW CUOMO.

    John L,

No truer words have been spoken!

Hey, Paladino's a whackjob but I abutment adding the state. How abundant more good would NYC be if we didn't accept the bloodsucking drain accepted as upstate absorbed to us? Take it and go, Pally. www.all-good-battery.com

    Secession now.

The best way ti insure the election of Andrew Cuomo is to contribute to the Paladino campaign. They should run a Telethon.

Is Paladino badmouthing NYC or just NYC Democrats and NYC traffic?

Hey, Paladino's a whackjob but I support dividing the state. How much better would NYC be if we didn't have the bloodsucking leech known as upstate attached to us? Take it and go, Pally.
