You Can Smoke Inside The UN

Tucked inside a story about how the NYPD thinks the UN is woefully unprepared for a terrorist attack is this little fact about the perks of living outside of city jurisdiction. Though smoking is banned in most UN office buildings (like that firetrap, the Secretariat), it is allowed in the corridors! It's so the French can continue to look cool on American soil, right? With regards to those security measures, the UN is refusing to make the necessary changes to prevent a terrorist attack, preferring to fight back by giving the terrorists emphysema.

Yeah, it was mostly the stairwells. It doesn't seem to happen much outside of the Secretariat, and with the renovations most people are out of there. Was much more common this time last year.

Yeah I don't smoke, I hate smoking, never tried it, never will, but banning smoking outside really, really bothers me, it's just too much nanny state.

lmao! you done figured them out.......second hand smoke is a joke,and the UNs own world health orginization is the one that wrote and pushed the world anti-tobacco treaty.....where they forced/blackmaled countries to sign on or lose imf and world bank loans.......
