Facebook Bomb Threat at St. Francis College Just Song Lyrics

[UPDATE BELOW] According to reports over the news wires, a student at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights has posted an announcement on his Facebook page that he's bringing a bomb to the school at 11 a.m. The FDNY and EMS do not like, and are currently ~~converging at the college~~, located at 180 Remsen Street.

UPDATE 11:40 a.m.: A spokesman for St. Francis, Rich Relkin, returned our call and told us that no buildings were evacuated, and the FDNY and EMS were not at the school. According to Relkin, the NYPD visited the school this morning to ask administrators questions about a student's Facebook posting, but it was determined that his bomb threat was actually just song lyrics. Relkin would not tell us the student's name nor what song the lyrics were from. Any guesses? We're thinking Rihanna's "Fire Bomb": "I just wanna set you on fire / So I won't have to burn alone / Then you'll know where I'm coming from / Fire bomb... Fire bomb." Just can't hear that one enough times!

nice cover up mr. spokesman, i was the first to send in this tip. ems and fd were probably placed on standby for the bomb "threat" that was posted on facebook... it wasnt just lyrics. NYPD check all those stuff if they are songs or quotes and their origin...

I feel sorry for these facebook and twitter feens walking around all day trying to find something clever to post. Sadly most people don't realize that they aren't all that clever or interesting.

@rocknrope there is usually more to it then just a facebook threat, there is probably 'reasonable' motive involved. NYPD doesn't just check facebook status updates all day.. (Their not my friend on facebook)

I was right, it was nothing more than song lyrics, which similar to the TAL show this weekend, which was a movie quote.

These EMS folks need to take a chill pill - if someone was actually going to do anything like that, do they really think they'd post it on Facebook first?

Sounds like this weekend's This American Life. I have to wonder if emergency services departments all over the country are chasing their tails on every "threat" that's posted on someone's FB status page.
