Woman Stabbed For Refusing To Give Up Purse

A woman was stabbed on the UWS by a mugger early this morning when she refused to hand over her pocketbook. The 27-year-old victim was waiting for a northbound 2 train at w 96th St. when the mugger approached her around 2:30 a.m. (DNA Info says it was 1 a.m.). He took out a knife and demanded her purse, but when she refused, he attacked her, stabbed her in the torso, then took off with the handbag.

A witness told the Daily News that although the woman was bleeding a lot, she ran after the attacker yelling "that's him! that's him!" The woman was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, while police are searching for the mugger. At this time, there's no report that cigarette-rage was involved, but this is what cigarette-rage wants you to think.

What day did this happen there are no north bound 2 train on saturday or sunday you need to take as shuttle bus uptown sucks for this lady she could have saved herself a stabbing by going upstairs

That's my question too. The 2 runs along the 1 line from 96th street on the weekends, so maybe she was waiting for that? I don't know if they do the same pointless rerouting on weeknights too (the 2/3 don't run from 11:30-5:30am).

By the way, when the hell is this track work going to be done?

But stab them back and you'll be bagged for assault. The original assaulter's mother will claim he was a good boy and the NY Post will quote a former schoolteacher saying that he was an Honor Student. His Parole Officer will then say he hasn't shown up for his last 6 appointments. A new Assistant DA will plea bargain him down to spitting in a public place. He will be fined $25 which he wont be able to pay so he will be released in his own recognizance so that he can raise the money for the fine, he will then mug someone else waiting for a northbound 2 train at w 96th St.

If someone is trying to mug you---let them. Muggers usually don't have a conscience and may hurt you if you don't give them what they want.
