  • Philadelphia 8 Mets 4: Roy Halladay wasn’t his best, but he used his bat and his arm to lead the Phillies past the Mets. On the mound, he pitched almost eight innings and allowed four runs. In the batter’s box he got a two-run single to break a 3-3 tie. The much maligned Carlos Beltran hit his third homer of the season.
  • Texas 6 Yankees 5: The Yankees had leads of 4-1 and 5-3, but Texas rallied to tie things up with a home run off of Joba Chamberlain. Mariano Rivera survived a leadoff single and a deep flyball in the 10th to send the game further into extra innings. Unfortunately, Chad Gaudin allowed a solo walkoff home run in the 13th.

Don't blame Yankee pitchers for last nights loss. Stranding 18 runners on base is an embarrassment. Failing to get the inning's lead off hitter home after he hit a double is bush league.

Much maligned Carlos Beltran-he deserves everything he gets. Omar Minaya should have been shitcanned for signing that corpse...
