Man Threatens To Jump During 2-Hour Ordeal

balconyjumper.jpg Around 8 a.m. this morning we received an alert that a man was threatening to jump from his balcony on the Lower East Side. Now the NY Post has more details (and a photo), reporting that the incident took place at 257 Clinton Street, where the unidentified man was hanging from a 16th floor balcony allegedly readying to jump. But by 9:50 a.m. he was safely in police custody after he "gave up and he decided to go back into the apartment"—not before pointing to one of the Post's photographers, however.

"I demand attention right now!" Waaah!"

If you want to kill yourself be a man about it and swallow a bullet, preferably on an easy to clean surface.

If you want attention call a help-line.

Just as long as its nowhere near my Charger...

usually it could be a cry for help. maybe he has nothing to put in order, like me.

Why would someone want to make a spectacle of their suicide? If you're really committed to excising yourself from the realm of the living, does it really have to be, like, right now? Get your things in order. Plan it out. Maybe you're really in despair, but why involve any more people than you have to (namely those who discover and remove your corpse, and your grieving family). If you're up on a ledge and someone sees you, maybe you should act a little nonchalant. Go back inside. Try to think of something you maybe forgot to do.

Oh, but don't jump. That's messy, and potentially dangerous to other people. Don't gas yourself in your apartment, either - that can spread throughout the building. Go considerate and clean, not careless and messy!

  • Cry for help and/or a big "F___ You!" to society?

In any case, if someone is really determined to commit suicide, sadly, no one can stop it. I hope he gets the help he needs, if not for his sake, but his family.

Say, does he resemble Jason Statham?!?

Better ending than the last one, and even better than the girl who thought she could fly.

  • Guest
