FDNY Brings Cat Back To Life

catfdny.jpg Yesterday word got out that New York's firefighters were unable to rescue a stray cat from a tree in Fort Greene, but now they may have redeemed themselves. According to the NY Post, the FDNY raised the bar yesterday by bringing a cat back to life. They report that the "apparently dead Brooklyn cat" was pulled from 925 Dumont Avenue during a four-alarm fire, but firefighter Pat Foresta felt some life in it (they do have 9 lives, after all) and rushed it to vet to get it some oxygen. Maybe the FDNY needs to invest in those pet oxygen masks!

Poor baby. So few cats look forward to any semblance of a good life in NYC, particularly in East New York. I hope she's adopted by a loving family.

    Great. But that's not a firefighter's helmet, it's a medic's.

Great story! I'm sure the family who must have lost a lot in the fire will be grateful that their little friend survived. Kudos to the firefighter with a big heart!

  • This made my day. Thank you bravest!!!!! Yes we need Oxygen masks for them as well. However our slush fund chris Quinn won't even pass the bill for sprinklers in shops that board animal. Over 1,000 have burned alive just these past years because of Quinn.

So FDNY brings cats back to life while NYPD lets 11 year old girls die of asthma attacks, eh?
