Gov. Paterson: Lying Or "Saying Wrong Things"?

082810paterson.jpg With the Albany County district attorney asked to determine whether Governor Paterson intentionally lied about paying for those World Series tickets, the Times points out that "it’s not always clear when he might be intentionally lying and when he is just saying wrong things." Gerald Benjamin, a political scientist at the State University College at New Paltz, said, "There’s a predisposition about politicians dancing around the truth. And generally he has not been regarded as a person as decisive or straightforward or whose word you can take to the bank." Is there a politician that has been?

Here we go with the government sanctioned cover up.

  • ides_of_march

The only reason this case is even being pursued is that Paterson a while back didn't immediately obey orders from Cuomo and the Obama administration.

Congress and state governments across the country are looting the public treasury like barbaric hordes. A few baseball tickets? Give me a break.

  • John L

    Exactly!

The only politician in NYC's history that will go down for going to a Yankee game, give me a break! Do think Giuliani paid for all his tickets? Please.

This is payback for not being a good boy.

I'm an Obama supporter but I realize that both Paterson and Rangel's problem come directly from the White House. Paterson made the fatal mistake of going against Obama's hand picked replacement for Clinton's old seat, Carolyn Kennedy. The irony is that he defied Obama's order and went with Kristen Gillibrand and she was among the first to call for Paterson's resignation and undoubtedly she did that at the behest of the Democratic leadership.

And it's no secret that Rangel was one of Hillary's staunchest supporters when she was running against Obama. Rangel had some very harsh words for Obama including " “But for him to suggest that Dr. King could have signed that act is absolutely stupid. It's absolutely dumb to infer that Doctor King, alone, passed the legislation and signed it into law" and has thumbed his nose at Obama in other instances. So that's why he denied Rangel a speaking role at the Democratic National Convention and has allowed Rangel to be charged with these ethics violations when everyone knows all these politicians do the same, if not worse.

It's dirty, it's ugly, it's Chicago style politics! So just sit back, grab some popcorn and enjoy the fighting as Team Obama cleans house and destroys all the disloyal Democrats.

PS: BTW here comes "cleanupnynow", watch this, the Democrats pay him/her to go around destroying Paterson's reputation on the internet. That's this person's only job. He/she googles Paterson's name all day and wherever it comes up, he/she cuts and pastes the same nonsense. Don't believe me? Google "Cleanupnynow"

It's a political assassination of Paterson.

Politics is such a dirty business, it's worst than the mob.

How often are you going to re-post the same comment?

  • John L

I apologize but I'll stop as soon as "cleanupnynow" stops posting his.

Somebody has to balance it out.

It's a smear campaign and everyone should be aware of it.

Look here just like I called it, two days in advance:

If you get him/her or them to stop, I'll stop too.
