Casual Friday Situation At Goldman Sachs

2010_08_situ.jpg Apparently employees in Goldman Sachs' securities division are allowed to wear jeans in the office on August Fridays if they donated $25 to one of four charities. Dealbook reports, "The summer heat has seemed to inspire fashion-forward financiers to push the casual-Friday envelope. 'It’s been getting ridiculous,' said one female analyst, who asked not to be identified. 'Last Friday, there were traders walking around the floor with three buttons of their shirts undone, showing off their pecs and hairless chests.'" [Via Daily Intel]

This story is clearly a fabrication. Most of the people who work there are fat and/or old. Unless they are talking about visible man boobs instead of pecs. This is a pointless article when there is no other news about GS just to try to make them look bad as usual. Dont you guys understand that the people here work a lot harder than you for their money. While your enjoying your 40 hour or less work weeks, the people at GS are putting in 80 hour weeks every week. Yea, the CEO doesnt really work anymore but all the low level people are busting their asses everyday. No point to complain that they should donate more or get paid less. If you want to get paid more go to school for finance, get a 3.9 GPA and be willing to work 80 hours a week and you can make their kind of money.

You're defining "work" as what? I can think of plenty of 40 hour jobs where the "work" is much harder, and the pay is much lower.

Nice. Any news on the size of the endowments? I have very aggressive investment strategies.

Real men have hair on their chests.

Sweet, these guys each donated 0.01% of their income.

Totally not surprised by how they dressed at work though. Although 3 buttons undone is not a lot, unless you're not wearing a shirt underneath, which it sounds like was the problem.

Working at filthy rich GS and donating $25 to charity is considered a big deal? Why am I not impressed? Donate $40 bucks, you get to come to work in a thong.

Who could imagine such hard working people being so utterly self-absorbed?
