NSFW Photos: National Go Topless Day Protest

Very NSFW! Today, ladies and gentlemen from across the city bared all from the waist up to fight for equality for being topless in public. "National Go Topless Day" attracted women of all ages with signs like "Tits: Wholesome, Holy & Hot," a guy offering free hugs, and of course plenty of gawkers. Thanks to a 1992 ruling, it's perfectly legal for a woman to bare her breasts any day of the year in New York.

Been a married man for 30 years and those who would criticize another woman's body truly have issues. Probably some young man who doesn't appreciate art. Sexist or not, a woman's body is beautiful in all shapes and sizes. It is art. The spiritual nature of a woman or person is what makes him or her beautiful. Enjoy the freedom because it isn't what someone else thinks anyway. Love you all!!!!

I'm all for it- I love womens' bodies. Topless, bottomless, go for it girls.

  • Clarice City

Oh I get it. These women are telling me that I can take my top off and look just like them. No thanks.

  • Potty Boy

    Hey! #8's alright!

  • Crapola

This law was intended for hot girls, please put them puppies back in their holsters.

  • Billiamsburg

liberals, introduce your women to soap, for all of our sakes.

I'm others would agree, but I would appreciate it you would hide the NSFW photos in the thumbnails. Luckily I went to gothamist.com this morning before going to work, but now I'm not going to the website all day because the NFSW photos show even when I'm on the homepage.

OK, we know it was kook day, but there was one woman with what I think looked like something evil inside a tattooed six-pointed star. Ugh.

  • amg2000

Thant 6 pointed star (Star of David) is a Buddhist good luck charm, and the reversed swastika is also a Buddhist symbol, I doubt she's part of any Jewish nazi sect.

I like the variety this year. they're all lovely.

    and the full boobie shots.

  • Rocknrope

I always wonder what kinds of jobs do these chicks have that it doesn't matter that their topless pics are plastered all over the internet.

  • robingee

What kind of job would fire a lady for legally being topless? Or even illegally? Or even in the office?

  • Rocknrope

It's not really about firing but about being taken seriously, and I'm not sure how seriously you can take a work colleague or superior after you've seen them naked, woman or man.

  • exnyer

iI agree, in European cities the subway, bus, kiosk ads are topless/see through lingerie.....it`s no big deal. A TV rating of 14 is soft porn..........NY`ers get with it.

  • freddynyc

Why is it the ones that you don't want to be topless....

  • Mr. Know-It-All

It's the same thing with nude beaches. Never anyone you want to see with their clothes off.

  • Polite New Yorker

These topless protests are lead by a cult called the Raelians. They believe the human race was created in a laboratory by space aliens and that Jesus was made when a space alien had sex with Mary. You can see some of these topless women wearing the Raelian symbol necklace.

And in an informal Gothamist study scientists conclude that 13/14 breasts are actually revolting to look at.

(looking at you picture 8. Didn't you get the memo? No hotties.)

  • Splicer

Number 5 has Semitic good looks.

  • jaycjay

I'm putting the woman in #10 in first place. Gothamist just chose the wrong picture of her:

As for #5 (and a couple of the others pictured), OK, while I know some people like it, nipple piercings are just completely unappealing for me. That area should all be about soft flesh; I don't like pieces of metal getting in my way.
