Next Weekend: Gatsby Goes To Governors Island

Governors Island is going Gatsby again! Next weekend (both Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Michael Arenella and the Dreamland Orchestra bring another Jazz Age Dance Party to the island, recreating the Roaring '20s just a ferry ride away from Manhattan. There will be live music and dance, instruction in period dances, picnicking, and games... all you need to do is find the perfect outfit.

As an aside: They really should transport Zelda from Battery Park to Governors Island—the turkey was named after F. Scott's wife, because during one of her nervous breakdowns she went missing and was discovered in Battery Park. Perhaps she'd be happier on Governors! At least for this lawn party.
