Wednesday night the Algonquin Hotel cat, Matilda, celebrated her 15th Birthday in the hotel's lobby, where a cat fashion show hosted by Must Love Cats host John Fulton was held in her honor. Our photographer Katie Sokoler told us she took an obscene amount of photos at the event, so here are some more (on top of yesterday's selection). By now Matilda's likely back to her regular schedule of roaming around the lobby:
The first cat came to the Algonquin in the 1930s, as a stray wandering in off the streets—this was just after that now-famous group of wits stopped meeting around the round table in the hotel's Rose Room.
