Landlady Shoves Tenant Down Stairs Over Late Rent

2010_08_mrsroper.jpg This doesn't sound like something Mrs. Roper would do: A Brooklyn landlady was arrested after "shoving a late-paying 21-year-old renter down a flight of stairs in Brighton Beach, police said." The Post reports that Alexandr Aliev "violently confronted the victim in the apartment building on Brighton Beach Avenue near Brighton 4th Street on June 28 at 2 p.m... As the cowering victim promised to fork over the $315 she owed in a couple of weeks, the raging landlady allegedly pushed her down the stairs. The victim, who suffered a broken leg, did manage to come up with the rent as promised."

Serbians are irritating, but much more confrontable than Russians.

Not disparaging the case where that Serbian student beat that guy up into a coma...

The Post seems to have either left out a vowel, or made a faulty assumption.

Alexandr Aliev is a guy's name. Alexandra would be a woman.

A Russian thug pushing a cowering woman down the stairs is pretty much what I'd expect from Brighton Beach.

Please don't bother Jen Chung with minute details such as getting the actual sex of the article subject correct. Do you know who she is? One of the main reporters for the Gothamist. She doesn't have time for petty things like checking the accuracy of anything.

She's too busy scouring other news sources for her next piece. She doesn't even have time to write her own!

Before you go all snarky on Jen, you might want to click on the Post article and see that it is indeed spelled Alexandr and they do indeed refer to the "landlady." Maybe you should go to their comments section and read them the riot act there.
