- Mets 1 Colorado 0: Mike Pelfrey dialed things back to June and the Mets managed to scratch out a run against one of the NL’s best. Pelfrey outdueled Ubaldo Jimenez, thanks to a sac fly from Jose Reyes. K-Rod pitched a flawless ninth to earn his 25th save as the Mets got back to winning.
- Rangers 4 Yankees 3 (10 Innings): If the Yankees have to face the Rangers in the playoffs, chances are they won’t have Marcus Thames batting third or Austin Kearns hitting fifth. The makeshift lineup managed three runs, but it was the great Rivera who let them down. Mariano let the first two runners reach in the 10th and Texas made it count, winning the game with one out.
