Teacher Admits to Videotaping Girls' Locker Room

Just a friendly reminder to watch yourself at those public pools: a Catholic high school teacher pleaded guilty today to using a hidden camera to record the girls' locker rooms at the Lasker Pool on 110th Street the YMCA pool at 224 East 47th Street last summer. "Peeping" Tom David Canela—chairman of modern languages at the private, all-girls St. Jean Baptiste High School and a part time lifeguard—faces up to a year in jail. We bet this never happens at the dumpster pools.

As a guy who's constantly trying to defend against the generalization, stereotyping and discrimination against many men, I particuarly hate assholes like this who will apparently forever make most men look like incessant sexual predators. What a loathsome shit stain this guy is. I hope the parents of the girls beat the hell out of him.

If they found child porn on his computer he'd get more than that.

Is it even a felony? Because if it's not then this guy may even be able to continue being a teacher and probably won't have to register as a sex offender, that's bullshit!

I'm so tired of that term being plastered around. It ONLY applies to people sexually attracted to prepubescent children. If you insist on slapping a Grecian label onto someone who wants to see naked teenagers, try out "ephebophile". Otherwise I think "perv" does the trick nicely.
