Have You Seen A Rat Today?

New York State Senator Bill Perkins must have caught wind of the ratdemic taking over New York City's streets, as he's now sent out a survey (which you can also take online) asking about these rumored rodent problems in subway stations from 86th Street and up. Some of the highly optimistic answer choices are amusing, such as: "I never see rats" and "There is no rat problem." Yeah Perkins, what rat problem?

Yes, I've seen plenty of rats in NYC. The biggest, scariest ones were mostly in Wall Street and thereabouts.

I just saw a rat. It was in the story above this one. I think it's named Hiram MonserRATe.

Heh... I was just coming here intending to post "I just saw a rat, but it wasn't on the subway because it had a state senate parking placard."

The biggest rat problem today is that douchenozzle who took the pic of Grampa MTA taking a nap.

Why is he a douche? That lazy slob should be FIRED.

Why does he only care about uptown rats? I rarely go about 30th and I see dozens of rats every day. I don't really care, I'm not easily grossed out but I'm just curious why he only cares about rats above 86th.

Because that is the district he represents???

how dare they? watching rats in the subway is as entertaining as going to the zoo, without all the guilty after effects. also, finding a sweet rat-fight is considered lucky.

I don't care about the subway rats - they are down on the tracks most of the time anyway, so who cares? I care about the rats running down the sidewalks on my street. My neighbors are unfortunately of the mindset of "the city is supposed to clean up after me - that's why I pay taxes" so the rats have plenty of delicious garbage to eat... my block association tried to have some rat education workshops, but of course no one came. Stupid self-defeating attitude of these people!
