Relative Arrested For Stabbing Two Girls in Westchester

A female relative of 7- and 9-year-old sisters was arrested last night after stabbing the girls in their home. Lisa Turkki, 39, had been called to watch the two girls in their Katonah home while their parents, Eva and Joseph Kelly, who were down the street at a Dr. John concert at the time. Police showed up after getting a 911 call from the home, and found the girls lying in the kitchen in pools of their own blood.

The girls are currently in critical condition after surgery at the Westchester County Medical Center and Turkki was charged with two counts of first-degree assault. Fox says the scene was reportedly "gruesome," and specialized crews were brought in to clean the scene after evidence crews had collected everything they needed. The Kelly's live at 85 Girdle Ridge Road, just down the block from Martha Stewart.

Yes the initial charges would be different and multiple if this were a different neighborhood/ethnicity -and the trolls would be foaming all over themselves. Speedy recovery to the girls.

Why is their home address being posted here at all? It's New York. A lot of regular people live in close proximity to famous people. These young children are violent crime victims. There was absolutely no reason to violate their privacy by giving out their full address with the house number.

Oh, and to the author of this story: apostrophes ae NOT used to indicate plural nouns. "The Kelly's" = possessive. "The Kellys" or "The Kelly family" = plural. Please, it's fourth grade grammar!

What she is initially charged with isn't really important. As always, the case will be reviewed by the DA's office, and then presented to a grand jury. Until the grand jury indicts, we have no idea what charges or potential sentence she might face.
