Last Night's Action: Double Downer

  • Angels 10 Yankees 2: Phil Hughes in 2010 on the road- almost perfect. Phil Hughes in 2010 at home- ugh. Unfortunately for Hughes and the Yankees, Tuesday’s game was at home and the results were to be expected. Hughes got shelled and the Yankees couldn’t get anything going off of Sean O’Sullivan. O’Sullivan gave up two runs in the first, but was almost perfect from there as he earned his first win of the season.

  • Arizona 3 Mets 2: Beltran is back, Reyes is back and the lineup still can’t score? Barry Enright stymied the Mets and R.A. Dickey allowed three runs, which proved to be too much to overcome. Angel Pagan homered in the ninth to make it a one-run game, but Juan Gutierrez retired Beltran, Wright and Davis in order to earn the save.

Beltran's knee is a big cause for concern

Yeah, if he had actually managed to chase down that pop fly in the 4th (which Pagan could have done easily) we'd be looking at a 2-1 win for the Mets.
