Will, The Abused Williamsburg Dog, Doing Okay

phpt258RZAM.jpg

The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals has sent us these photos of the dog who was thrown to the ground in Williamsburg last week by 30-year-old Alexandra Mendez-Diaz—who prior to bodyslamming the dog on to North 7th Street declared she was "the Queen of Brooklyn."

Following the incident the NYPD brought the shih tzu puppy to the Mayor's Alliance, who brought it to veterinary hospital. Last week the dog was in stable condition, and we're now told that Will (as he was named) is doing well and that "one of the NYPD officers has been visiting Will in the hospital." Awww!

The toys he's pictured with here were donated and are keeping Will company in the hospital. If anyone would like to make a tax deductible donation to the Mayor's Alliance Picasso Veterinary Fund to help pay for Will's care they can do so online at www.animalalliancenyc.org.

Only on Gothamist can such a beautiful happy ending about an adorable puppy incite such venom and anger. Sad.

But I'm happy that Lil Will is doing good and is on the road to recovery. Hopefully he'll find a good home and be better than ever.

    Remaining question:

is the crazy ass biatch close to sane to live as part of society?!

What type of drug induced brainless state was she in?

  • Lauren

Any info on how/when we can adopt him?

  • lovelyday

Contact the Picasso Fund, I'd guess.

Shouldn't we make tax free donations to humans not dogs?

Aren't there lots of sick, terminally ill, abused, starved humans out there?

  • Amanda Harletsch

you are free to bring homeless to your house and give them all your food an love!

Now, if you think compassion is reserved for those humans, KNOCK YOURSELF OUT giving love to those homeless, the poor and mentally disabled you seem so care so much about!

    I bet you do!

BTW, isn't ACORN helping these people? Aren't the poor the scum of society that social Darwinism and the free market should eliminate?!

I bet you are a republican that suffers a terminal state of hypocrisy!

And like to antagonize for the sake of it.

Not understanding the pile of BS you are standing on.

This is about a puppy that got almost killed, but in your crazy ass mind this is about HUMANS BEING SUPERIOR! Not even understanding a gram of compassion even towards humans.

  • FelixtheCat & Christine Quinn'

seriously, go ahead and help those sick humans that you are referring to instead of hating on this dog. He suffered enough, don't you think? And there are many social programs that are funded by taxpayers and by private donor. Did you support the public option? Yet 1/2 a cent of 1 dollars is used on animals welfare. So please stop hating on animals that we caused them to suffer. they don't ask anyone for handouts. All they ask if for us to LEAVE THEM ALONE. And most of that 1/2 cent of a dollar used on animals is to euthanize them. I will try to make a donation. It won't be much since I am low on funds but I will make a small contribution.

I hope people will find it in their hearts to help this poor guy

  • otta

You're free to make tax-free donations to humans; why do you oppose others making tax-free donations to animals? Nobody is advocating not helping the "sick, terminally ill, abused, starved humans out there."

How about you attack people for not helping anyone or anything (there are plenty of those), rather than people who, in your opinion, do not direct their aid correctly?

  • ibreak4coffee

You know you can donations to BOTH humans and animal organizations... ever thought of that. Why is it anytime someone advocates for helping animals people start lecturing them that they need to help humans first and animals second? Its not mutually exclusive...

  • otta

I hope this woman gets some jail time and not just some volunteer hours to complete, as happens way too often. How can we deter animal abuse if the punishment is often simply laughable? Thank you for keeping this in the news.

  • BillyShears

I probably won't be satisfied until this woman's been mauled to death by a pack of pit bulls, so I guess, in the interim, the criminal charges will have to do.

  • FelixtheCat & Christine Quinn'

Thank you NYPD. And please slam this bytch Diez on the pavement.

  • youngpro

Also, one last note to undress you yet again. Why is it that in EVERY post, you comment about how bad the NYPD is, and how they're always 'let off the hook' and how they don't care for people. and yet that seems to all be negated when it involves arresting and helping prosecute someone for animal abuse.

again, further proof no one takes you seriously.

  • FelixtheCat & Christine Quinn'

Youngpro, will you stop poisoning this blog with your obsession about you. I criticize NYPD for violating civil rights but there are plenty of good cops but they are following the directions of Commissioner Kelly. Commissioner Kelly is no good. He plays with the crime stats and violates our rights so he can ride on Bloomberg's private jet.

  • youngpro

if only to prove my point that you are an absolute moron.

  • otta

Some of us take Felix much more seriously than you. I have yet to see you add something new rather than criticize others for their comments.

  • youngpro

also, a) thanks for proving my point; and b) thanks for actually reading all my comments in reply to his and only taking with you a mere fraction of the point

  • otta

Honey, point is: you don't have a point.

  • youngpro

bimbo: point is you dont know what youre talking about, and you still fail miserably to comprehend an ounce of what is posted.

  • youngpro

as if your opinion matters. yes, i'm on a crusade. and if you take felix seriously, then youre as crazy as he.

  • youngpro

    "Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals."

---but the Mayor doesn't care about animals, right, Felix? So much that he wouldn't establish this organization FOR them, right? I bet you'd never even heard (or cared to hear) about this group because of your fucking agenda and vendetta against him.

  • FelixtheCat & Christine Quinn'

Mayor alliance for animals is a coalitions of rescue groups such as Best Friends, earth's angels, ASPCA, etc. They worked together to promote low cost spaying, TNR (trap, neuter, release) and other programs. But they are not funded by the mayor. I think there are given some small benefits but not much. Mayor Bloomberg and Speaker Quinn had not permitted ONE animal-welfare legislation to pass these pass 10 years. They kill geese, feral cats, etc. Speaker Quinn especially is a miserable mean person who is very friendly with the horse carriage industry. NOT one bill pass in 10 years. And They even permitted landlords to evict people because they had pets. If you really are interested then I gladly all the information . But I think you are just here to spew your hatred.

  • youngpro

eh, i didnt say they were funded by the mayor, asshole. it was INITIATED and SUPPORTED by the mayor.

  • youngpro

again why no one takes you or peta seriously. you'll be the first to condone anti-animal abuse this and that, and then the first to condone violence against other animals (humans).

you truly are a sick, twisted person.

  • allthewine

This makes me sad. I hope Will gets through this!

  • Jen S

    I love him!

  • What a sweet puppy. I hope he finds a good home.
