Brooklyn AutoZone Robber Claimed To Be Victim

2010_07_autoz.jpg Police arrested three people who held up an AutoZone in Bensonhurst last night. A worker had tripped the alarm when the three suspects, two men and a woman, demanded money; according to WABC 7, "Police had the building surrounded by the time they tried to leave. One of the suspects came outside in an AutoZone shirt, claiming to be an employee. But police asked the man the store's phone number, and he was arrested when he did not know the answer." The other two suspects were hiding in the store. The suspects were also armed—with BB guns and water pistols.

To be fair, the actual employees of the Autozone probably couldn't tell you the place's phone number.
