Sidewalk Cleansing Rain Arrives

Substantial rainfall is happening over the city for the first time in more than three weeks. We look forward to walking up the stairs in Morningside Park tomorrow morning without holding our nose. About an inch of has fallen over most of the city since yesterday afternoon. We can expect showers and possibly a thunderstorm through this evening. While the humidity levels are kind of disgusting today's high will be lucky to break 80 degrees.

The rain is courtesy of a cold front that is slowly approaching the city. The front will pass through town sometime this evening. Behind the front is some dry, but not very cool, air. In fact the air isn't cool at all. Tomorrow's high will be back up to near 90.

Fair weather won't be around for much more than a day. Another cold front will start having an impact on the region by Friday afternoon. This second front looks like it will take its sweet time traveling from the Great Lakes to the East Coast. Ahead of the front we can expect a return to warm and humid weather. Yay! Highs Friday and Saturday will be around 90, with at least a slight chance of showers both days.
