Rep. Weiner Is Getting Married Next Weekend

A year after confirming their engagement, Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-Brooklyn, Queens) and Huma Abedin, long time "right hand" woman to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, are getting married next Saturday. The Washington Post reports that the Clintons threw the couple a party on Wednesday night. Hillary Clinton said it was "love at first sight" for Weiner. And Bill Clinton said Abedin was like a daughter to him and said that the couple, a Muslim who grew up in Saudi Arabia and a Jew from NYC, is what he wants "the future of the world to be." wow, don't even get me started on the Bill Clinton jokes. Anyway, I wish the couple well -- but considering that Weiner is pretty hawkish when it comes to Israel, and Saudi Arabia is not exactly a liberal, open democracy I'm not exactly sure their marriage is the perfect allegory for world peace.
