The New York Public Library has been fearing proposed budget cuts, but is the solution to their monetary woes an under-advertised free service they already offer?

Like suckers we've been paying for Netflix, when we could be sating our softcore pornography fixes for free... online and on-demand, even! Greg Mocker at WPIX just spent a lot of man hours sifting through various city libraries for erotic films, finding hundreds at the NYPL, Brooklyn Public Library and Queens Public Library.

The films found include To Seduce An Enemy (pictured), Going Greek which advertises "sorority ass-signings," and Golf Balls which sports the tagline: "Who gets the stroke and who gets the shaft?" Of course, if you want the real stuff, you're going to have to rent the Brooklyn Public Library's VHS copy of Austin Powers, which was spliced with hardcore pornographic scenes.

Mocker asked library officials if they would consider cashing in on this service, but they told him: "We remain committed to our mission of making our collections free and as accessible to the public as possible." And as for their scintillating selections, they said: "The materials in our various collections, including DVDs, are chosen based on a variety of factors, including popularity. The titles in question are legitimate feature films... We, as a public library, are not in a position to censor these materials." They did note that they keep kids away from the R-rated stuff, however... at least, offline.
