Carvel: Black Card Is REAL, Lohans Abused Privileges

You know the party's over when you get called out for abusing your celebrity ice cream freebie card. Earlier today, we all had a good chuckle over a recent incident at a Carvel in East Meadow, Long Island, where Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina had her Carvel "Black Card" confiscated by an employee. The cards entitle holders to free ice cream for 75 years or until the recipient overdoses on crack/drowns in a hot tub/burns up in a fiery DWI crash on the 405—whichever comes first. Now Carvel has fired back at the Lohan family, and it's awesome:

As part of Carvel’s 75th Anniversary celebration last year, we issued 75 Black Cards to celebrities. These cards were issued in the celebrity’s name and require the card holder to be present at the time of use. Many celebrities have enjoyed their cards at our Carvel Ice Cream shoppes and have shared their excitement with being included in the celebration.
Unfortunately, the Lohan family has been abusing the card. While the card was issued in Lindsay and Ali’s names only, her extended family has repeatedly used the card without either present. At first, we graciously honored their requests while explaining that the Black Card was not a carte blanche for unlimited Carvel Ice Cream for the extended Lohan family and friends. After more than six months of numerous and large orders for ice cream, we finally had to cut off the card and take it back.

Dina Lohan reacted badly and called the police to have her card returned. The police responded and did return the card to Dina with instructions not to use it again.
This is an unfortunate situation where certain people feel entitled to use a celebrity’s name for their own purposes. We regret that the Lohan family is upset and hope this matter is put behind us quickly.

Oh, please don't let this matter get put behind you, Lohans! Dina and Cookiepuss need to battle this out on Judge Judy.

So let me get this straight. Instead donating money to a needy cause, any needy cause in honor of their 75 years, they decide to give free ice cream to the very people who can afford an x multiplier of the $25 limit.

How Canadian are you? No route 401 in Carvel territory, though if you used a road that was more Yonkers in its origins, like the Cross County Parkway or Nepperhan Ave. [Tom Carvel's base was Yonkers] that would be more like it.

By the way, how's old James Dolan doing these days???

What a stupid promotion. Why not give 75 black cards to random customers, or run a contest? It would have generated a lot more good will. And why Lindsay Lohan?

I make my two boys save up their nickels & dimes so they can buy ice cream at the corner place on Friday nights, and these schmucks get free Carvel for life. At least I can take comfort in knowing my boys will turn out right. Suck it Lohan's.
