Mother Of Abandoned Baby Arrested

061310safehaven.jpg The mother of a 5-day-old boy left in the Sutphin Avenue F train station was arrested yesterday and charged with felony abandonment of a child. Antonia Lopez left her son swaddled in a blanket next to a MetroCard machine at about 8 p.m. on Friday night. He was found and taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he remains healthy. According to Safe Haven laws, Lopez could have dropped the baby off at FDNY or NYPD stations without risk of prosecution.

What about the father? Is he getting arrested too? Maybe it's time for these lowlives to put a cork in their vagina and stop breeding everytime a male come within five feet of them.

Jesus! Okay, a metrocard machibe is NOT the best decision, but at least it was a) protected from the elements and b) well traveled. Hopefully arresting her was a way to get her into the system and get her some help -- like a tubal ligation for starters.
