Cloudy, Cool and Wet

Something different for the middle of the week—cool, wet weather. There's a warm front draped across Maryland and Pennsylvania that is creeping ever so slowly northeastward. However, the front doesn't look like it will get this far north. Instead we're stuck with a lot of clouds and rain.

Steady light rain should begin any moment now. The rain will become heavier through the afternoon and evening. The thick cloud layer will keep today's high to the upper 60s. The steady rain will taper off overnight only to be replaced by a chance of showers or thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon. Don't be fooled by any morning sunshine. It will only serve to increase the likelihood of afternoon thunderstorms when the upper level shortwave arrives in the afternoon.

Friday looks to be a recovery day. There's no cold front to clear the moisture out, but there's also no upper-level disturbances to induce rainmaking. The sky will be somewhere in between with a mix of sun and clouds and a near normal high. Warmer weather should return for the weekend but the jury is still out on whether it will be wet or dry.
