"Real Housewife" Looks on Bright Side of Bankruptcy

060810teresa.jpg Real Housewife of New Jersey Teresa Guidice is speaking out about her and her husband's filing for bankruptcy, and guess what they're blaming? Those $2,000 in 10 minute shopping sprees The economy! Guidice told People magazine, “What is true is that due to the economy, most of my husband’s real estate ventures failed despite his hard work and effort. As a result, we looked to the Bankruptcy Court for a ‘fresh start.’"

From Bravo, "monthly assistance from family members," and Joe's business, G&G Stucco and Stone Specialist, the couple earns $16,583 a month. Their monthly expenditures equal that, plus they have almost $11 million in assets and liabilities and owe over $200,000 on credit cards and home repairs. Things are so bad she almost had to miss the Ladies Night Out benefit on Monday night. But Guidice isn't letting it get to her. She told Us magazine, "I have moral support; I have my daughters and my husband. As long as we're in good health, that's all we can do. I think this kind of situation is all over the world." Exactly! Plenty of families in third world countries go into debt trying to pay for their eight-bedroom mansions.

She also claimed she wanted to teach her daughters morals, instead of teaching them to be shopaholics just like Mommy. Court papers show the couple was ordered to undergo credit counseling, and were awarded temporary stay on their car and housing payments. Giudice also wrote on her Twitter account, "I wish I could say more--esp to you guys--but my lawyers and Bravo tell me I can't. So much you don't see. But thank you for not judging."

Who ever extended the credit to these losers to allow them to get in a position like this?

the day we can -- as a culture -- stop celebrating trash like this woman, the sooner we'll evolve into better humans.

    (ie never)

Saying someone has $11 million in assets and liabilities doesn't tell us much if you don't break down how much of each. You do know that those two things are different, right?

Regardless, this chick needs a fresh start on a lot of things, such as raising her children.

So true. They've got 2.2 million in assets and $8.7 in liabilities. So in other works, they are f&cked big time.

Can't the Mafia bail them out???

    Oh, I'm judging. Big time.
