In addition to busting windows, yesterday afternoon's cold front passage put an end to a week-long warm spell. For seven straight days the high ran at least ten degrees above normal. Unusually, the day-to-day change in high temperature did not vary by more than two degrees during that time. Behind the front today's high should be near the normal of 77 degrees.
More dramatic than the temperature drop was the decrease in humidity. The dew point plummeted from the upper 60s to lower 40s yesterday afternoon. The cooler, drier air will be filtering into town through tomorrow. That will make for a cool night tonight. Tomorrow should be a couple of degrees cooler than today.
There's a bit of uncertainty as to when the next low pressure system will arrive. The Weather Service and AccuWeather have it arriving on Wednesday while the Weather Channel thinks it won't get here 'til Thursday. If the former are correct we'll have a cool, cloudy and possibly wet hump day. If it is the latter the coolest day of the week will be Thursday. All are in agreement that the 80s will return for the weekend.
