Did anyone notice the rare weather event that happened the last two days? Wednesday and Thursday had the same high (87) and low (67) temperatures. It's like Groundhog Day in June! The last time that two consecutive days had the same high and low was the 38/31 combo back on January 6th and 7th 2009. This morning's low was 72, so there's little chance of hitting three straight days.
The cause of the tedium is weakness. The weak high pressure system over the region can't be pushed away by a milquetoast cold front to the north because the front only has weak upper level winds to push it along. All this meteorlogical weakness is letting a bad element, cruddy air, spread into the area. Today and tomorrow will be very similar. Both days will see a mix of sun and clouds, highs in the upper 80s, and a chance of showers or thunderstorms.
A stronger cold front looks like it will bring a change late Saturday night. Sunday should be cooler, with highs only in the mid 70s. The chance of rain is going to stick around though, as the front is likely to stall just to our south. Drier weather arrives with the start of the new work week.
