Worst Class Trip Chaperone Ever

2010_05_mars2112.jpg A Stamford, Connecticut man was arrested in Times Square yesterday after he allegedly groped young girls on a class trip he was chaperoning. The Post reports Tomas Manzano, whose son is in the fifth grade class, was "spotted by the teacher caressing a girl's face as they were headed from the Central Park Zoo... Manzano stopped after the teacher asked him what he was doing, but when they arrived at their next destination, Mars 2112 in Times Square, the two got into a heated argument in front of the students."

At that point, six other girls, ages 10 and 11, claimed that he had touched them inappropriately. Teachers then called the cops, and Manzano wasn't so happy about that. According to the Daily News, he "started 'spitting at cops' and made a crazed but unsuccessful bid to bite one of the officers, police sources said. It took several officers to subdue him."

Manzano, who was found with a liter bottle of vodka, was charged with sexual abuse of a child, endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest and taken to Bellevue for a psych exam.

I can't think of much worse that a father could do to embarrass his child...

  • S.K.

Chaperoning is already embarrassing to the child. Children go on field trips to get away from home and parents.

  • Kelles

Maybe they should leave him to the angry dads of the young girls?

  • Ritchie

    Excellent idea!

Witnesses reported that as cops were removing him from the scene, Manzano kept shouting "Arresting me for what?? I'm not allowed to touch girls? I thought this was America? huh? Isn't this America?? I'm sorry I thought this was America!"

  • Rocknrope

Thankfully, this is also the America where you get your ass beat in jail for molesting children.

Isn't Mars 2112 a club? Why would they be going there?

I didn't need to search because I know there are people I work with that talk about going clubbing there. I guess it turns into more of a club/bar after midnite.

Who takes kids to Times Square for a class trip anyways? WTF?

  • S.K.

"Who takes kids to Times Square for a class trip anyways?"

A jerk molester, that's who. I suppose this jerk's hometown doesn't have a Sbarro, Starbucks, or TGI Friday's, so for him Times Square was not a tourist trap, but a legit destination.
