In 2044, Western Union will meet Marty McFly at this station and deliver a telegram they've had for 34 years sent from Jay Walder.

Is that the countdown clock for the completion of the 2nd Ave. Subway?

All of you folks so eager to have smartpass technology-keep things like this in mind. The MTA can't even maintain a clock...

  • jlocke

Oh no no no it's worse than that, the clocks on all the R160 trains display 00:00 AM instead of 12 midnight.

If this is the Broadway IRT, then the sign is just about right regarding when the next train will arrive ;^)

  • Kaz

They've got 34 years to correct the sign. 8/18/2044 will be a Thursday.

Speculation: leap year programming failure, combined with a 2038 bug?

Does this mean *every* countdown clock will give us wrong days of the week?

  • MidC Frank

Yikes -- my stop. Depressing to think I'll still be late for work 34 years from now!

  • kazubes

    Just take your hover bike

  • Dick Nickel

A hoverbike is just a Huffy on a fishing line.

Just like we were promised flying cars in 2000, I'm disappointed the subway of the future looks the same as now.

    :/
