Contrary to earlier forecasts it now appears that the holiday weekend's weather is going to be a mixed bag rather than three days of sun. Such is life in the prognostication business. Following yesterday's brief lightning show, today should be mostly cloudy and cool with a high in the low 70s. Watch out for rip currents if you're brave enough to wade into the cold water.
A decaying cold front will add just enough instability to the atmosphere to bring more clouds tomorrow. There's a slight chance of showers or thundershowers late tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow's highs will range from the mid 70s over New Jersey to the low 60s out in the Hamptons.
Old Sol will get a chance to shine on Manhattanhenge Sunday. It'll be hot, too, look for a high approaching 90. We're not sure why the Weather Service is calling for rain on Memorial Day so we're ignoring them. Ignorance is bliss! Monday looks like it will be mostly sunny and in the 80s.
