Are you ready for some hot, hot weather action? If so, today is the day for you! High pressure is allowing for plenty of sunshine and a warm breeze. As a result the temperature should zoom up to the lower 90s this afternoon. The Weather Service says 95, which would tie the record set in 1880, but their forecasts have been running warm the past few days. The heat will clash this afternoon with a back door cold front sneaking down from New England. The result should be showers and thunderstorms. The latter accompanied by gusty winds and hail. Sadly, it probably won't be of the OMG Oklahoma hail variety.

The front is going to take its sweet time getting down here so the chance of showers will be around through tomorrow. Thursday's high should only be in the mid 80s under mostly cloudy skies. Much cooler air will be here once the front passes. Look for a high on Friday in the upperish 60s.

Lots of dry air behind the front will make for a beautiful holiday weekend. Temperatures will climb from the mid 70s on Saturday back to the mid 80s by Monday. Perfect for Fleet Week and viewing Manhattanhenge.
