These Dudes Are Watching Lost... All Weekend

losties0510.jpg

If you stop by Professor Thom's on 2nd Avenue right now, or anytime through Sunday night, you'll find three former college pals on the balcony watching Lost. Every episode, from beginning to Sunday night's series finale. All in all that's 96 hours of being on (and sometimes off) the island, and we're guessing by now they've already lost any ability to keep up with plotlines we can barely understand when we've gotten 8 hours of sleep. Because... why else would they be totally ignoring the television?!

They're being sponsored by Rockstar Energy Drink and some terrifying thing called Awake gum, and are attempting to break the Guinness World Record for most consecutive hours spent watching television. That's pretty sad, but also, for a good cause! If they reach their goal, three charities will split $100K in donations—you can donate online or by dropping by. And you guys, you can watch them watching the show LIVE... where they are so not paying attention.

  • Roger McDowell

These guys are good dudes. If known the bad mustache/beard guy for a long time. You should support their crazy lost marathon

  • Patrick Bateman

No way this is gonna be better than Battlestar Galactica. No Frakkin way.

    Not to mention "Breaking Bad."

  • Dr Becca

Um, do they get to pee? Or does that invalidate the world record? People have died from not peeing!!!

How about 1000 people give $100 to their favorite charity? Then they wouldn't have to spend so much time watching TV, which as we all know is one of the most energy-wasting appliances on the planet. Imagine the carbon footprint of large-screen TVs being left on for hours and hours to watch one lousy program?

These aren't the old Cathode Ray Tubes. LCD tv's use about as much power as a lightbulb.

Also been there, done that. With Lost, BSG, SG-1, Futurama, Tales from the Crypt and the Twilight Zone.

    No, I don't have friends.

Ugh, just read my own post and think i'm entering douchebag territory. I'll shut up now. Enjoy "Lost" y'all!

A true "Lost Weekend". And fyi, you can give $100 to whatever charity you like without watching every single episode of "Lost". I've written many a check to various orgs without showing off to the world what I did.

  • How about $100,000? Cuz that's what they're doing.

Lost is okay. I watched it from the beginning, but never once watched a rerun, even with their "enhanced" subtitling. I was just never really addicted to it. Missed the first episode this season and just completely forgot about it after that. Maybe I'll watch this season in a mini-marathon on ABC.com, assuming the whole season is available.

And ferryboi, doing it to get $100,000 for charity doesn't make them losers. They're winners in my book if they succeed. Losers are the people who don't help others and just hang around being snarky online.

But wait, that would make ME a loser! How mean of you...

  • xgeyiph772

How to call them losers without being mean?...hmmm, let me get back to you on that one.

I started watching lost May 1st and I thought getting to season 5 was an accomplishment!
