*UPDATE* Another New Banksy?

The well-known streetart photographer Luna Park just called our attention to this new piece. Location is unknown, but it looks like an authentic Banksy to us- the shading, subject, and hand-drawn box are all similar to other pieces he's recently put up.

Update: looks like the location of this piece in Long Island City was sussed out pretty quickly last night- Omar immediately arrived and destroyed it.

  • HBHB

Why do you sweat this guy's bullshit so hard?

  • SikBug

I think I liked this one the most

  • stipulation

    please stop covering this.

Good luck with that. Jake Dobkin is the big cheese of Gothamist. Emphasis on "cheese." And he adores "street art." Too bad he refuses to leave it on his other site, which is completely dedicated to the stuff.

I hate Banksy because his stuff isn't played out bubble letter throwups or tags of his name and cru that graffiti should be. Banksy's work reflects an idea, is interesting to look at and actually makes you stop and think about the world beyond yourself for a moment - who wants that!? I like meaningless, ugly, self serving tags and throwups that make the city look like shit and remind me that street art isn't art, it's shit. Sort of like Omar's work.

Thanks for "Keepin' it real" Omar! Fuck Banksy!

  • kafkask

seems to me Omar is working with dear old Banksy.

  • LaborUnionGuy

Is he calling us snot nosed Americans? Do we really tout our liberty that much.

  • MollzieD

So, Gothamist, what you're saying is... if Banksy didn't do it then it's not good art?

  • DanielJ

Hey folks, this guy is actually a very famous, very talented and creative artist with a cult following all across the world. If you look at this stuff it's obviously a lot more than just graffiti. He's got a unique style that's actually pretty difficult to duplicate, and it's also pretty hilarious. http://www.artofthestate.co.uk/banksy/Banksy_photos_thumb_001.htm

I happen to be a fan, so I like to know about new pieces that pop up. He's not n the city too often. This seems to be the only site that gives a shit, so I'm sorry if you don't.

"street art photographer" aka taker of pictures of walls?

  • alivefromnewyork

  • YouWillLearn

The funny thing is you idiots are worried about caring if it's Banksy who did it. Why do you care who did it? That's the whole thing they were making fun of in that movie.

Doesn't matter who did it you idiot. It's the same shit. You either like it or not.

  • Jen S

This is what he'd say if he realized you're stalking him!

  • YouWillLearn

    What?

  • dr zippy

    I think it was Neckface.

  • TheKlaus

Mediocrity is easy to forge. So I wonder if it's even him

  • erik123

Yo Basta! Enough is Enough. Who Cares about the blimey prick.

  • justthinkin

Yeah, that Banksy is do damned original that absolutely no body on this planet could even come close to duplicating his style. He's doing something with his hand, but it ain't drawing.
