Did A Queens Pet Store Give Away Woman's Lost Dog?

loladog05.jpg A French bulldog named Lola was lost recently in Queens. Her owner, 24-year-old Liliana Intrabartolo, tells the Post that she hasn't slept or eaten since her dog—who needs surgery and could be going blind—went missing last Friday. It's believed the dog ended up at Metro Puppy on Metropolitan Avenue in Forest Hills, where someone brought the dog in saying it needed a home—an employee then gave her away to two other customers in the store.

No names were taken, the dog's ID microchip wasn't checked and they didn't call Animal Care and Control to find out if the dog was lost. The employee says the dog was only in the store for a total of 3 minutes before they handed it off. If you've spotted Lola, here are details on how to contact her owner.

I'm surprised the pet store allowed the dog in the place at all. If I'm a dog dealer I don't want people coming in with animals off the street, full of diseases and parasites they could hand off to my animals.

One post on Queens Crap that doesn't leave me screaming at my computer...

Metro puppy is a puppy mill shop. STOP funding cruelty. there are beautiful dogs and puppies for adoption in ASPCA and other rescue groups which you can easily find in petfinder. Stop this madness of buying genetic inbred dogs from puppy mills. it is wrong. respect life.

Adding to what I already said, you are the same as Christine Quinn and Michael Bloomberg because no matter the situation, you are always promoting your agenda over everything else. You are equal, or worse, than the people you hate. Live with that, jackass!

  • Guest

STFU! Someone lost their beautiful little puppy and all you can do is promote your agenda. You suck worse than a 2 dollar whore.

yet another reason pet stores suck. who buys dogs anymore? morons...

What, no comment from felix/slushie about how this woman is slime and deserved to lose her money because she bought a purebred rather than adopting, and how this proves that purebreds are all genetically inferior with lots of diseases?

  • Queens

The dog was retrieved last night, as reported this morning on Queens Crap.

    Happy Ending for Lola

Someone brought a dog into the pet store, saying it belonged to a friend who couldn't keep it, so it needed a new home. Two customers who were in the store at the time and saw/heard that said they'd take it.

Where did anyone at the pet store do anything wrong? The transaction doesn't really even involve the store.

And, no one even knows that this was the same dog. It's not exactly a rare breed.

Animal story, someone parked in bike lane, animal story, something irrelevant, animal story. This used to be a good blog.

    Well played, sir.

  • handsomedevil

Besides I know you are wrong because I read this blog all the time and I find it is very docile and friendly and relevant to my interests. People like you are disgusting with your jealousy and hatred.

  • handsomedevil

Your comment has been reported to the ASPCA.

  • jaycjay

And also reported to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Blogs.

Hey freakin DIE you animal hater you ought to have your face ripped off by pit bulls you and that asshole Michael Vick its people like you who used to be a good blog.

  • schadenfreudian mensch

You forgot to squeeze "James Franco" stories on that list.

  • nicemarmot

You'd think the frigging pet store employees of all people would know what to do with a lost dog. I guess it must be the kind of place where they sell you a defective puppy from a mill and then when it dies offers you a replacement.

  • schadenfreudian mensch

Working for minimum wage won't confer any type of intelligence on the employee nor would it be expected.

  • DanielJ

Wow, that employee is a complete idiot.

All those stray French Bulldogs roaming around, this was obviously feral. No way it might be someone's lost $2,000 dog. Obviously no chance it was microchipped.

  • Taco Renald

Whoa! That is so wrong. I hope she gets her pup back.
