Massage Shoes Look Suspicious To Airport Screeners

2010_05_massageshoes.jpg Guess what? If you're wearing shoes with battery cells and wires inside them, airport screeners are going to wonder if you're a shoe bomber type, when in fact you're just a passenger sporting some nifty massage shoes. Airport security officials in Karachi, Pakistan explained that a passenger's arrest, initially thought to be a "shoe bomber" arrest," was nothing to be worried about; one intelligence official told CBS News, "It was all just a hype."

Karachi airport investigator Niaz Khoso said, "We have seen such shoes for the first time and have sent them for analysis to verify his claims. To be honest, we did not know that such shoes are available in the market but we are checking. We have not released him yet but if he is found innocent, we will let him go for sure." Well, Engadget says the Good Vibrations Therapeutic shoes are "thick-soled shoes" with "a non-stick grip, on / off switch, and a rechargeable battery that reportedly provides around five hours of feet shakin' therapy." Will we hear about massage underwear being flagged next?

There are many concerns over terror in Pakistan because the U.S. government thinks the Pakistani Taliban is connected to the attempted car bomb in Times Square.

What a waste of money! There's no comparison to receiving a REAL massage from a trained massage therapist.

"We have not released him yet but if he is found innocent, we will let him go for sure." Well I'd certainly hope so!

But seriously, sometimes it is possible to be so dumb that it's actually illegal.

Sad irony: these were probably ordered from SkyMall.

You deserve to get questioned, water-boarded, and placed on the fashion/dork terrorist watch-list for wearing such ridiculous shoes
