  • Yankees 10 Boston 3: There was a ton of good in this game, but also some possibly significant bad. On the good side, New York pounded Josh Beckett and Phil Hughes pitched like an ace as they cruised to an easy win. On the bad side, Robinson Cano had to leave the game after getting plunked on the left knee and Nick Johnson left with an injury to his right wrist. The Yankees will have to wait and see if Cano and Johnson will be ok, but they have gotten their road trip off to a good start.
  • Mets 6 San Francisco 4: Rod Barajas is quickly making himself into a hero. For the second time this week Barajas provided the winning blast, this time it was a one-out shot in the ninth to send the Mets home to victory. Barajas’ second blast of the game turned K-Rod into a winner after he blew the save in the ninth. Ike Davis had two homers and a fantastic catch while Mike Pelfrey continued his strong pitching this season with 7-plus innings of three-run ball.

    Let's go Mets !!!!!!!!!!!

That was an absolute crazy mad catch by Davis in the 9th, preceded by a game-saving play by Castillo the batter before. Barabas will get the press, but the Mets defense won them that game last night, and they deserved it.

As a Phillies fan, though, I still enjoyed the blown save by KRod. Oh c'mon, you didn't think I could make a Mets post without some negativity, did you? :)
