Yesterday, the Rev. Al Sharpton, continuing his promise, led a protest against Arizona's immigration bill in Phoenix, and told the crowd, "I want you to know tonight that if those challenges don’t stop this law, if the federal government will not intervene ... then I want you to know that from all over this country we will bring people into Arizona... We will bring them in the spirit of the Freedom Riders... If you lock up one, you’ll have to lock us all up."

Sharpton said, "If they do it to Latinos today, they do it to your group tomorrow," adding, "Let me get this right, if I want to give [Arizona] money, I'm welcome. But if I want to make sure that you do not profile and discriminate against my brothers and sisters, you tell me to mind my own business. Well I come to tell you, that when you mess with our people whether they're brown, whether they're white, whether they're black, that is my business." National labor unions have said they will boycott Arizona if the law continues to stand.

Sharpton also wore a Los Suns jersey. The Phoenix Suns' sporting of the alternate jersey actually upset some people.

"then I want you to know that from all over this country we will bring people into Arizona..."

This might work, but is it ok to blackmail the entire state?

threatening to have Rev Al move into their neighborhood has got to be the most heinous form of extortion. its probably racist, and ought to be classified as a hate crime.

I do agree with my constitution i think they should never be able to uptain citizenship if breaking the law. What people don't know there's the constitution that was written by the founding fathers and the liberal constitution written by liberals and the far left.

I’m Arizona State Senator Sylvia Allen. I want to explain SB 1070 for which I voted yes.

Rancher Robert Krentz was murdered by the drug cartel on his ranch a month ago. I participated in a senate hearing two weeks ago on the border violence, here is just some of the highlights from those who testified.

The people who live within 60 to 80 miles of the Arizona/Mexico Border have for years been terrorized and have pleaded for help to stop the daily invasion of humans who cross their property . One Rancher testified that 300 to 1200 people a DAY come across his ranch vandalizing his property, stealing his vehicles and property, cutting down his fences, and leaving trash. In the last two years he has found 17 dead bodies and two Koran bibles. Another rancher testified that daily drugs are brought across his ranch in a military operation.

A point man with a machine gun goes in front, 1/2 mile behind are the guards fully armed, 1/2 mile behind them are the drugs, behind the drugs 1/2 mile are more guards. These people are violent and they will kill anyone who gets in the way. This was not the only rancher we heard that day that talked about the drug trains.

    Shitbag Sharpton should go home.

    The law should follow Oklahoma.

If they want to check status on someone they have pulled over for another reason, I'm fine with that too.

I'm tired of being so permissive to the thieves in this country.

Proudly wearing a Los Suns jersey... Has he finally paid his back taxes yet? Or did another mysterious fire destroy his records?

Chris Rock on black leaders: Al Sharpton's all right.

We are so pass the point of minorities having nobody to defend them, except for some self-appointed "leader".

From many elected officials from all races, a sensationalistic 24-hour media, the ubiquity of recording devices and a lot of excellent lawyers in search a large settlement Sharpton has little to offer these days. It's 2010, not 1969.

Rev Al should be using his energies by marching in Washington to have congress pass an immigration reform bill that won't potentially infringe on "illegal" immigrants civil rights..But obviously that's not going to happen in this PC world...

  • inoyourider

Exactly, god forbid Shitbag Sharpton actually do something logical, or constructive.

His only goals are to get his name and face in the public's eye as much as possible.

  • Thespis

Sharpton's involved? Oh, great -- now I've got to support this stupid law.

  • How Ya Doin

"when you mess with our people whether they're brown"
